Someone I loved. (Last part)

From the sunsets we drew in our notebooks to the ones we shared with our loved ones, it has been a long journey.
No matter what happens in our life, we would all learn to love again. Our hearts were made to be soft and vulnerable. It will elapse through the most toughest of times and still beat soft in the face of affection. The most heart-warming miracle and it is all the more lovable because both you and me have witnessed it, even if it was for a fleeting moment.
When you get to talk to your bestfriend after a constant struggle to make time for each other. Or when she suddenly texts you that she misses you. Or when he holds your hand for a few seconds. Or when you see someone happy just because of you. Maybe once in a while, we should let these moments make us feel whole. To understand the presence of our existence. A purpose for our flawed and scarred heart.
You could be running around your room with no pants on to find one so that you wouldn't miss the sunset. Because you know somewhere else, he too will be watching it. And somehow the heart that broke way too many times tells itself to beat for a few more rhythmic shades of orange and red. And he made you feel alive and you love him all the more for it.
We could stay and watch the sunsets for years to come, you hoped, even though you knew he'd rather watch it with someone else. And yet you live for those few moments. The sky never stays the same and somehow the ones you watched together will be etched as yours for eternity.
And as you run to the top, faint drops of sweat travelling down your neck, you steady the backpack on your shoulders and you watch the sunset as if you are seeing it for the first time. Your eyes shimmering with golden rays with a tinge of red, orange and maybe a little blue. The sun sets, sucking out all the memories and tales you had brought along with you. It leaves you forgetful of the other sunsets you had watched. And you find yourself immersed in it, devoid of people, hugs, soft kisses and fast- beating hearts. The beats of your heart becomes one with the magic of the skies. And you realise that this is the end of the journey.
You have made this sunset yours. And only yours.

And you finally realise that you were the someone that you should have loved before you gave your heart out to others. Be the someone you love first.

P.S: This is the last part of this series. Hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for your time ♥️.
